Note: This article only applies to VMware Horizon View desktops that do not have physical GPU acceleration.

To optimize the performance of Flash, ensure that the Flash player has hardware acceleration turned off:

  1. Right click on the Flash window
  2. Select settings.
  3. On the Display tab, ensure that 'Enable hardware acceleration' is not selected. 
  4. Click Close. 

Background:

Turning on the hardware acceleration option within Flash adds computationally intensive Flash options that are expected to be accelerated by physical graphics hardware (GPUs). Since by default, VMware Horizon View desktops use a virtual graphics driver, there is no hardware acceleration capability. The additional Flash computation load on can result in degraded Flash performance.
