How do I configure wake-on-LAN with the AMD R5000 PCoIP Remote Workstation Card?
There are three ways to configure wake-on-LAN with the AMD R5000 PCoIP Remote Workstation Card.
Option 1: Use the PC NIC and PCoIP Host Software
- For instructions, refer to How do I remotely power on the host PC/workstation through its network interface (PC NIC) from a PCoIP Zero Client?.
Option 2: Use the PCI wake input
- Your motherboard must support the PCI_WAKE# signal (check with your motherboard supplier to see if this is supported).
- Note: This method is considered standard WOL, using an external signal. If required, configure the system BIOS and host card AWI to enable "Wake by PCIe device." More information in How does the PCoIP Zero Client/PCoIP Remote Workstation Card support remote power management?.
Option 3: Use the power button cable
- If your motherboard does not support PCI_WAKE# signal:
-
Connect the J6703 to PWR_SW pins on the motherboard (power cable not included).
-
If your motherboard does not support a common ground on the PWR_SW pins, short pins 2-3 on J6701; otherwise connect pins 1-2.
